The Wilshire congregation sponsors twelve radio broadcasts per week
in English and four per week in Russian on international radio transmitters covering much of the
globe. The recording studio is in Edmond, Oklahoma.
English is used for international broadcasting since it is spoken by
educated people around the world.
Germaine Lockwood does the
preaching for the English broadcasts. Sandra Lockwood is a volunteer
secretary. Bill Forrester is the accountant. Ron Hartman works with Bible
correspondence courses.
Bibles, books, study folders and correspondence courses are mailed
to listeners on request. Letters arrive each week from all parts of the
world. Other congregations and individuals contribute to help with
expenses.
A Russian program is also produced by the Wilshire church with
Yvan Kolesnikow doing the preaching.
This work is under the oversight of the elders of the Wilshire church
of Christ, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Contributions sent by churches and individuals go into a special
account for radio preaching which is in the name of the Wilshire church of
Christ. A record is kept of all receipts and expenditures and the official
accounting is done by Forrester Accounting service. With regard to how
the work is organized, brother Lockwood explains: "It is a work of the
church. There is no non-profit corporation other than the Wilshire church
of Christ. The church is the Lord's missionary society (Acts 13: 1-3)."
Brother Lockwood is available to present a slide report about radio
preaching for your congregation.
Eternal Good News, fifteen-minute radio preaching tapes can be put
on local radio stations. A church or individual can contract with a radio
station for broadcast time. Tape production and mailing costs are nominal.
